Abstract
Today's classroom instruction can be delivered through various design models. While there may be similarities among them, each model considers varying factors throughout the design process.
The ASSURE model was designed to be used by teachers in developing their own classes. It is ready-made for those who seek to create an effective blueprint for their online and blended classes. The Gerlach & Ely model was designed as a prescriptive model that effectively illustrates the fundamental principles of teaching and learning. It also supports student-centered learning, while promoting the use of media.
We will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each model; illustrating the effectiveness of each within the classroom.
